Job Title: Deputy Manager

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Reports To: Registered Manager
Role OverviewThe Deputy Manager will assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the childrens residential home. This includes ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding for the children and young people, as well as supporting staff development and performance. The Deputy Manager will also step in to manage the home during the absence of the Registered Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in managing the residential home, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
- Lead, supervise, and support the care team to provide high-quality care.
- Promote safeguarding and the welfare of the children.
- Maintain and update care plans, risk assessments, and records.
- Support staff training, supervision, and performance appraisals.
- Assist in budget management and resource allocation.
- Act as the homes leader in the absence of the Registered Manager.
RequirementsQualifications
- Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce (or equivalent) Essential
- Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management Desirable
Experience
- Experience in a childrens residential care setting Essential
- Leadership or supervisory experience Desirable
Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours and complex needs.
